Microsoft today published the above video ad promoting their current generation console Xbox One S. Microsoft is positioning Xbox One S as the console that offers best value in games and entertainment. With Xbox One X launch around the corner, some people may wonder why Microsoft is promoting their out-going generation console. With this ad, Microsoft is making it clear that Xbox One S is not going away anytime soon and they are making it an attractive value offering for mass market audiences.

This holiday season, consumers will definitely see Xbox One S console bundles starting at $199. In that price range, Xbox One S actually competes with Apple TV 4K, Amazon Fire TV Gaming Edition and other streaming media players. When compared to them, I think Xbox One S offers great value to consumers. It has over 1,300 games including blockbusters, popular franchises, and Xbox One exclusives. It also has popular media apps with 4K HDR video streaming support and built-in 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. To attract more consumers to the Xbox gaming community, Microsoft recently launched Xbox One S Starter Bundle with 500GB storage, 3 months of Game Pass and 3 months of Xbox Live Gold for $279. You can find it here on Microsoft Store.

Microsoft’s upcoming console Xbox One X is targeted towards hardcore members of the gaming community who care about every pixel on their screen. To deliver the best possible visual experience, you need high-end hardware which drives up the console cost. Microsoft is going to sell Xbox One X at $499 from next month, making it the costliest console available in the market. You can pre-order it today and get it delivered on November 7.
