Microsoft today revealed that it is working on a new improved Start Page for Office desktops on Windows. Office team hopes that this new Start page will help you effectively find files important to you, create new content, and keep up with the latest activities in your documents.

In this new experience, based on the feedback from customers, Office team has given more real estate to the Recent Documents list and reduced the templates experience to start. Also, the full file browsing experience is one click away in the ‘Open’ tab. And you can get back to this experience from the file menu by clicking on the Home icon. Office team also mentioned that they are planning to bring this same experience to Office.com in the coming weeks.

Microsoft will rollout this new Start Page experience to Office Insiders in the coming weeks.
