Microsoft announces public preview of Windows Autopilot for HoloLens 2

Early this year, Microsoft announced the Windows Autopilot private preview for HoloLens 2. Last Friday, Microsoft announced the public preview of Windows Autopilot for HoloLens 2. Windows Autopilot for HoloLens 2 will allow admins to pre-configure new devices and set them up for productive use.

Windows Autopilot streamlines deployments and first user experiences, driving significant cost and time savings.

When a user starts the Autopilot self-deploying process, Autopilot completes the following steps:

Join the device to Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). Note that Autopilot for HoloLens does not support Active Directory join or Hybrid Azure AD join.
Use Azure AD to enroll the device in Microsoft Endpoint Manager (or another MDM service).
Download and apply device-targeted policies, certificates, networking profiles and applications.
Provision the device.
Present the sign-in screen to the user.
