Microsoft today announced that the company has integrated Translator into Cortana in Windows 10. With the latest addition to Cortana, you can easily translate something. For example:
- “Hey Cortana, translate where is the nearest taxi stand in French?”
- “Hey Cortana, how to say where is the closest grocery store in Spanish?”
Here is a list of all of the translation languages currently supported by Cortana:
Bulgarian Catalan Chinese (Simplified) Czech Danish Dutch English Estonian Farsi Finnish French German Greek |
Hebrew Hindi Hungarian Indonesian Italian Japanese Klingon (pIqaD) Korean Latvian Malay Maltese Polish Portuguese |
Romanian Russian Slovak Slovenian Spanish Swedish Thai Turkish Ukrainian Urdu Vietnamese Welsh |
Cortana was able to translate a phrase to French for me – however, sometimes, it may misunderstand you and if it can’t translate something, it’ll open up Bing and do a web search. Nonetheless, this is indeed a pretty nice addition to Cortana. However, keep in mind that it’s only available to Windows 10 users in the US for now.
