Well before Nokia decided to go Windows Phone 7 Microsoft already had  a strategic partnership to bring its productivity apps to their Symbian platform.

Today Microsoft has announced it will be delivering some more fruits of this deal in Q4 2011 in Nokia’s Symbian Belle platform.

The Microsoft Apps package will include:

  • Microsoft® Lyncâ„¢ 2010 Mobile – for cost efficient IM, presence, audio and web meetings on-the-go.
  • Microsoft® PowerPoint® Broadcast – quick broadcast of presentations directly from PC to mobile.
  • Microsoft® OneNoteâ„¢ – rich note taking with images. Syncs with Microsoft® SkyDrive®.
  • Microsoft® Document Connection – single view to documents stored on mobile, including email attachments as well as documents on Microsoft® SharePoint® 2010 sites.

In early 2012 Microsoft OneNote which sync with SharePoint in addition to SkyDrive as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint will be added.

The planned release will set up an interesting dynamic where Nokia would have to convince consumers to buy their Windows Phone 7 handsets instead of their Symbian handsets, which will share many of the same Microsoft productivity features.
