On May 14, 2025, Microsoft announced that Nord Security had successfully optimized its NordVPN application for Windows on ARM devices with assistance from the App Assure program . This collaboration aimed to ensure seamless performance on ARM-based Copilot+ PCs, including those powered by Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus processors.

Nord Security’s engineering team faced challenges in adapting their application to the ARM architecture. Microsoft’s App Assure provided technical guidance, helping them choose the most effective development approach. Gytis Murauskas, Head of Engineering at Nord Security, highlighted the value of this support in accelerating their development process and achieving a timely market release.

The ARM-native NordVPN app now offers features like Threat Protection Pro and split tunneling, aligning with the x64 version .
