Christmas is only 10 days away, and Microsoft today announce that the company has teamed up with the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) to introduce new experiences for the NORAD Santa Tracker. The company is allowing Windows 10 users to find out where Santa is using Cortana (just ask “where is Santa”) and Windows Maps. Additionally, the NORAD Santa Tracker is also offering a coloring book for Microsoft Edge users, which is also a very nice addition. Santanu Basu, the Senior Product Manager for Bing marketing stated:
“This year we’ve got Bing, Cortana, Microsoft Edge, Windows Maps coming together, and again, Microsoft is partnering with NORAD to bring children and their parents a delightful experience. They’ll discover games throughout December, and then they’ll track Santa on the 24th as he’s going around the world, and discover more about those cities he’s visiting.”
Here is a short list of things Microsoft is bringing in partnership with NORAD:
- An online holiday-themed coloring book exclusive on Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge
- A new image carousel of cities Santa visits and info from Bing to educate visitors on the different locales
- Cortana integration, so those seeking Santa’s whereabouts can ask aloud
- And, it’s all powered by Microsoft Azure!
