Microsoft Teams for Android updated with more powerful phone-related features: Update - also iOS

Microsoft Teams app for Android devices was updated in Play Store today. This v1416/1.0.0.2019011101 update comes with several new improvements which bring the mobile app closer to the power of the desktop app.

The update now lets you start and stop meeting recordings from the mobile app, just like on the desktop, and also brings a number of other improvements including:

  • Copy links to channel messages
  • Start and stop meeting recordings from mobile app
  • Place your call on park and get a unique code for retrieval
  • 1:1 to group call escalation for PSTN calls

The phone-call related features, of course, requires a Phone System license.

Update: The phone-management related improvements are also now available for iOS.

Version 1.0.62 has the following changelog:

  • Start and stop meeting recordings from mobile app
  • Place your call on park and get a unique code for retrieval*
  • Make calls on behalf of someone else*
  • 1:1 to group call escalation for PSTN calls*
  • Bug fixes and performance improvement
  • *Requires Phone System license
