Microsoft's Surface Laptop Studio 2 leaks ahead of official launch, will come with up to 64 GB RAM

At a press event next week, Microsoft is expected to reveal new Surface hardware including Surface Laptop Studio 2, Surface Laptop Go 3 and Surface Go 4. Surface Laptop Studio 2 Design:

There will be no major changes when compared to the existing Surface Laptop Studio model. However, based on the feedback from customers, Microsoft has added a MicroSD card slot and a full-size USB-A port. Existing ports including Thunderbolt compatible USB-C port will be still available. The laptop will feature the same 3:2 14.4-inch PixelSense display with 2400 x 1600 resolution and maximum refresh rate of 120 Hertz.

Surface Laptop Studio 2 Performance:

CPU options:

• Intel Core i7-13700H with six high-performance cores and eight power-saving cores
• Intel Core i7-13800H with six high-performance cores and eight power-saving cores

RAM options:

• 16GB LPDDR5X RAM
• 32GB LPDDR5X RAM
• 64GB LPDDR5X RAM

GPU options:

• Intel Iris Xe
• Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 with 6GB memory
• Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 with 8GB memory

To offer a decent battery life with the above powerful processors, this device will feature a 58 watt-hour battery to deliver a maximum of 19 hours of runtime.

Surface Laptop Studio 2 variants:

In this 2nd generation, Microsoft has cancelled the base variant of Surface Laptop Studio. You won’t be able to buy Surface Laptop Studio with Intel Core i5 series processor.

Surface Laptop Studio 2 Price:

• Surface Laptop Studio 2 with 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD and Intel Xe GPU – 2249 euros
• Surface Laptop Studio 2 with 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD and RTX 4050 – 2729 euros.
• Surface Laptop Studio 2 with 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD and RTX 4060 – 3199 euros.
• Surface Laptop Studio 2 with 64 GB of RAM – 3700 euros (Expected price).
