Microsoft today announced a partnership with Girl Scouts of USA (GSUSA) to launch free STEM badge workshops for Girl Scouts troops at Microsoft Stores retail locations across the US. This will give young girls digital skills and encourage leadership qualities. Young girls can earn five badges in four STEM areas: robotics, computer expertise, digital photography and movie-making. Microsoft is also planning to launch a leadership series at the stores with former Girl Scouts and female STEM experts to inspire older Girl Scouts to pursue STEM education.

Highlights of this program:

  • Earn exclusive badges: Build skills in four new workshops: computer expert, movie maker, robotics, and digital photography.
  • Alumni skill building: Starting on November 1st, join us for alumni workshops including Fundamentals of Office, LinkedIn Series, Resume Building “Jump-Start Your Job Search,” Start Your Own Business, Productivity Hacks, and OneNote Series.
  • STEM Speaker Series: Starting in January 2020, Microsoft Store will host quarterly events highlighting powerful women in STEM who are Girl Scouts alumna.
