Final Fantasy XIV is still coming to Xbox One. Many months ago, Game Director Naoki Yoshida said that he would like to bring the game to as many platforms as possible but then everything went quiet. Well, we have more news on that front now, months later! Speaking with Finder, Yoshida said that talks are in progress with Microsoft. The director added:

“We need to make sure…Microsoft understand what we do and have them know about our online and QA regulations. We believe these conversations will take a long time.”

While this is definitely great news, the “long time” is somewhat troubling. How long can these discussions possibly take? Is it that hard to get together? To us it seems like an excuse at this point because these supposed “conversations” have been going on for years. This is the video game industry, and Microsoft is more than accommodating. Make it happen.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is an MMORPG and features a persistent world in which players can interact with each other and the environment. Players create and customize their characters for use in the game, including name, race, gender, facial features, and starting class. Players must also select a game world for characters to exist in depending on their region. Final Fantasy XIV is an incredible experience so hopefully it’ll come to Xbox One soon. Maybe they’ll announce it at E3 2017? One can dream but it seems unlikely given this statement.
