Microsoft Rewards

Have you been harvesting for Microsoft Rewards points? Well, we may have some good news for you.

Folks have spotted overnight that Microsoft has greatly reduced the number of Rewards points needed to redeem Microsoft Store in what could be “the best addition they’ve made in the last years.”

Redditors said that in Brazil, the number required has been reduced to 1,035 points from the previous 1,750 points. Then, users across various countries also joined in the conversation, with some reporting from Mexico, New Zealand, Romania, and the UK, though these changes vary by region.

“Brazilian here and can confirm that it indeed went down A LOT. Just got the max gift card value (30 Brazilian reais) and I’m almost there to redeem another one for 15 BRL,” one user said.

Microsoft Rewards, available in 58 countries, offers you a lot of benefits, like earning points for using Microsoft products and services, completing quizzes, or shopping at the Microsoft Store.

You can also redeem these points for a variety of rewards such as gift cards, sweepstakes entries, Game Pass subscriptions, and even charitable donations.

But still, some of the things that Microsoft has been doing for these incentives have been questionable at best.

Last year, folks were frustrated after Microsoft increased the points required for redeeming gift cards by up to 33%. This price hike has affected various regions, including the U.S., where the cost of redeeming Microsoft or Xbox gift cards has risen, with a $50 gift card now requiring 47,500 points, up from 46,000.
