Last week we reported that Microsoft has halted payments using Bitcoins due to instability issues. The reason given was the high volatility and fees along with the overall instability of the coin.

A spokesman has now confirmed that Microsoft has resumed accepting Bitcoins.

We’ve restored bitcoin as a payment option in our store after working with our provider to ensure lower bitcoin amounts would be redeemable by customers.

Last December, Steam also dropped support for Bitcoin due to high transaction fees. It looks like companies are right doing it considering the fact that Bitcoin saw a steep rise in 2017 breaking records and now has fallen badly. Currencies like these aren’t exactly trustworthy for big companies like Microsoft. Although Microsoft has enabled Bitcoin transactions for now so if you live in the US then you can use it to purchase content like apps, games and videos from its Windows, Windows Phone and Xbox platforms.
