Back in June, Microsoft announced the new Nokia X2 Android based device which comes with enhanced specs compared to the first generation Nokia X, with a larger 4.3” ClearBlack display, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM, 5MP camera and a 1800mAh battery. The other significant news is the release of Nokia X software platform 2.0 along with Nokia X2. The latest software platform release included many improvements. Today, Microsoft released Nokia X Software Platform 2.1 with many new features such as added support for Google services, live wallpapers and more.

- Access your favorite Google services. You can now sync your Google contacts, and access your Gmail inbox.
- Find your way anywhere with HERE Maps – get turn-by-turn voice guidance with a free global navigation license. Requires additional HERE Maps update from Store.
- Updated Store – new design to help you find content more easily, and better integration with 3rd-party stores.
- Added local calendar support, call reject with a message, parental controls for Store, landscape support for mail and messaging, and auto-configuration of mail accounts.
