Microsoft releases June cumulative Update for Windows 10 1903 and 1809

Microsoft today released the June cumulative update for recently released Windows 10 May 2019 Update(1903) and the Windows 10 October 2018 Update(1809). As you already know, the update brings no new features and brings bug fixes and performance improvements.

PCs running the October 2018 Update(OS Build 17763.557) will receive KB4503327 from Microsoft, while the May 2019 Update(OS Build 18362.175) to get the KB4503293. Below is the official changelog.

Fixes for Build 18362.175

• Addresses a security vulnerability by intentionally preventing connections between Windows and Bluetooth devices that are not secure and use well-known keys to encrypt connections, including security fobs. If BTHUSB Event 22 in the Event Viewer states, “Your Bluetooth device attempted to establish a debug connection….”, then your system is affected. Contact your Bluetooth device manufacturer to determine if a device update exists. For more information, see CVE-2019-2102 and KB4507623.
• Security updates to Windows Virtualization, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Internet Explorer, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Media, Windows Shell, Windows Server, Windows Authentication, Windows Cryptography, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows SQL Components, the Microsoft JET Database Engine, and Internet Information Services.

However, the update has a known issue. But, thankfully, you Microsoft provides the workaround.

Windows Sandbox may fail to start with “ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND (0x80070002)” on devices in which the operating system language is changed during the update process when installing Windows 10, version 1903.	Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.

• Addresses an issue that may prevent the Windows Mixed Reality keyboard from rendering correctly in some applications.
• Addresses a security vulnerability by intentionally preventing connections between Windows and Bluetooth devices that are not secure and use well-known keys to encrypt connections, including security fobs. This may cause the connection to the WDS server to terminate prematurely while downloading the image. This issue does not affect clients or devices that are not using Variable Window Extension.
• Adds updated Broadcom Wi-Fi firmware to Microsoft HoloLens. For more information, see Advisory 190016.
• Addresses an issue that may prevent Internet Explorer 11 from opening if the Default Search Provider is not set or is malformed.
• Security updates to Microsoft Scripting Engine, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Media, Windows Shell, Windows Server, Windows Authentication, Windows Cryptography, Windows Datacenter Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Windows SQL components, the Microsoft JET Database Engine, Windows Virtualization, Windows Kernel, and Internet Information Services.

The cumulative update for the October 2018 has known issues too.

Knows issues

Symptom	Workaround
Certain operations, such as rename, that you perform on files or folders that are on a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV) may fail with the error, “STATUS_BAD_IMPERSONATION_LEVEL (0xC00000A5)”. This occurs when you perform the operation on a CSV owner node from a process that doesn’t have administrator privilege.	Do one of the following: Perform the operation from a process that has administrator privilege. Perform the operation from a node that doesn’t have CSV ownership. Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
When attempting to print from Microsoft Edge or other Universal Windows Platform (UWP) applications, you may receive the error, “Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem. 0x80070007e.”	You can use another browser, such as Internet Explorer to print your documents. Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
After installing KB4493509, devices with some Asian language packs installed may receive the error, “0x800f0982 – PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND.”	Uninstall and reinstall any recently added language packs. For instructions, see Manage the input and display language settings in Windows 10. Select Check for Updates and install the April 2019 Cumulative Update. For instructions, see Update Windows 10. Note If reinstalling the language pack does not mitigate the issue, reset your PC as follows: Go to the Settings app > Recovery. Select Get Started under the Reset this PCrecovery option. Select Keep my Files. Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
