Microsoft Q3 FY18 Earnings: Office 365 commercial saw a revenue growth of 42%

Microsoft today announced FY18 Q3 earnings results with a revenue of $26.8 billion and operating income of $8.3 billion. Microsoft reported that Office commercial products and cloud services revenue increased 14% (up 12% in constant currency) mainly driven by strong Office 365 commercial revenue growth of 42% (up 40% in constant currency). As businesses are migrating to cloud based solutions like Microsoft’s own Office 365, Office commercial products revenue declined by 15% this quarter.

In the consumer side, Office revenue growth has slowed down. The revenue grew 12% (up 9% in CC) and the total Office 365 consumer subscribers have reached 30.6 million.

Microsoft also mentioned that LinkedIn’s revenue grew 37% (up 33%) with 30% growth in LinkedIn sessions. Dynamics 365 revenue grew 65% (up 62% in constant currency), thanks to new product refresh cycle and key customer wins.
