Microsoft partners with Qualcomm to develop an AI developer kit for camera-based IoT devices

At Build developer conference today, Microsoft announced its partnership with Qualcomm to create a vision AI hardware kit for developers that is powered by Azure IoT Edge. This partnership will allow OEMs to develop camera based IoT solutions based on Qualcomm’s hardware and Microsoft’s software.

These solutions can use Azure Machine Learning services and take advantage of the hardware acceleration available via the Qualcomm’s Vision Intelligence Platform and AI Engine. The solution can also power advanced Azure services, such as machine learning, stream analytics and cognitive services, that can be downloaded from the cloud to run locally on the edge.
