Microsoft Azure Gartner

Gartner research recently published their Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Storage Services. For second year in a row, Microsoft Azure was recognized as a leader based on completeness of our vision and ability to execute.

Microsoft Azure is the only cloud provider to offer customers comprehensive options to select among Local Redundant Storage (LRS), Zone Redundant Storage (ZRS), Geo Redundant Storage (GRS) and Read-Access Geo Redundant Storage (RA-GRS).

Customers looking for comprehensive Cloud storage offering and enterprise solutions can depend on Azure Storage. We provide the following cloud storage offerings – Block Blobs, Page Blobs and Disks, Tables and Queues and Files. Azure Cloud Storage is also well integrated with other Microsoft products such as StorSimple, Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery enabling customers to seamlessly tier their enterprise data growth to cloud, back up active data to cloud and recover data seamlessly in event of a disaster in a primary data center.

Finally, we continuously innovate on Azure Storage to address customer feedback. This is evidenced by the recent GA of Azure Premium Storage, which provides customers with the ability to run IO intensive workloads requiring low latency (e.g. SQL Server running on Azure VMs), reduce overall costs and experience incredible transaction speeds. Since launching Premium Storage, we have seen thousands of Azure customers benefit from the Virtual Machine performance.
