Microsoft Mystery Event Announcement: Microsoft Surface Tablet

Today at the mystery event, Microsoft announced the new hardware that we all expected for. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer came on stage to discuss about how hardware played significant role in Microsoft’s history. He focused on how hardware pushed more great software experiences.

“This combination of hardware and software works together to deliver an amazing experience.”

“Our most successful hardware has been the Xbox. Developers are pushing it to do more.”

“we wanted to give Windows 8 its own hardware innovation. It’s something new, something different, it’s a whole new family of computing devices from MS.”

Microsoft announced its new Surface tablet that is 9.3mm, 1.5 lbs (675 grams),  magnesium case, 10.6 inch screen. The device will have a kickstand built in as well. It has a gorilla glass display.

OMG, the device even have a multi-touch keyboard.. It comes with Office. There will be two versions of it. One with ARM processor and another with  Intel processor. It even supports stylus. The Surface has two digitizers. One for touch, one for digital ink. It sees the proximity of the pen and stops taking hand inputs.
