Following Google, Twitter and Facebook, Microsoft has now announced that they are investigating whether Russians bought pre-election ads on their Bing search or other ad platforms in the US. If Microsoft finds anything, they will take appropriate action.

“We take reports of misuse of our platform seriously. We are therefore investigating and if inappropriate activity is found, we will take steps to minimize such misuse in the future,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement to Reuters.

For the past few months, the US government agencies are investigating whether the Russian efforts influenced US media prior to the elections. There’s also a widespread belief that Russians spread misinformation in order to promote Donald Trump during the elections. They have already confirmed that Russians bought at least $100,000 in ads on Facebook. You can read more on this story here.
