Microsoft Office 25 years

Microsoft today revealed that Microsoft launched Office 25 years ago on this day. Since then, Microsoft Office has helped million of people get things done in their work and personal lives. Office apps and services has transformed from the traditional ones like Word, PowerPoint and Excel, to newer experiences like Office 365, Office Online, OneNote and OneDrive. Microsoft wants to celebrate this occasion with a new marketing campaign called behind_the.docs.

Office is part of the fabric of a myriad of stories from the everyday to the extraordinary.  Today we’re kicking off a celebration of these stories—the stories behind the Office documents we create and share. Over the next 25 days, we’re paying tribute to our customers through a series called behind_the.docs. We’ll tell the stories of people using Office to advance their ideas and achieve interesting, touching and even remarkable things. From the young teacher pitching her vision for a new urban charter school to the local school board, to three sisters starting a new business in honor of their grandmother, it’s people and what they’ve accomplished that have made Office what it is today. And it’s our continued belief in the power of technology to help people achieve great things that drives our vision.

You can follow the behind_the.docs journey on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.  If you have a story about what you’ve accomplished with Office over the years, share it with us using the hashtag #behindthedocs.
