Microsoft is already offering protection of your important files from Ransonware via back-up to OneDrive, and now HTNovo reports that Microsoft will be using Windows Security Alerts to encourage users to enable this feature.

The new feature is found in the Windows 10 October 2018 update and will alert users via the very effective yellow alert triangle in the taskbar, and also Windows Security Settings.

The feature, combined with the Known Folders feature in Windows 10, should encourage even greater integration with Microsoft’s cloud storage service and operating system, which has big advantages and also big risks, such as losing access to your files and account if your break Microsoft’s rules.
