Microsoft has updated the Edge for Android browser to version 42.0.22.3726 in the beta channel.

The update only brings one new feature, but its a good one. Edge for Android now supports Picture-in-Picture mode for handsets on Android Oreo and above.

This means if you are playing full-screen web video and you press the Home button your video will now continue playing in a floating window which can then be dismissed seperately if need be.

Unfortunately, while I have been able to get background audio the Picture-in-Picture window does not show up for me yet, but that may just be my handset.
