Microsoft has decided to discontinue Teams PWA app which might serve as a huge blow for Windows 10 S users. The news comes from Microsoft’s official blog itself which now notifies the users that Teams PWA will be discontinued soon.

The store version of the Teams app is useful for people running in Windows 10 S mode which restricts users from installing third-party apps outside the Microsoft Store. However, Microsoft announced that the app won’t be available to users starting November 29.

Effective November 29, 2018, you’ll no longer be able to use the Microsoft Teams for Windows 10 S (Preview) app, available from the Microsoft Store. We recommend that you use one of the Teams apps described below in this article after November 29.

This would be a huge blow for S mode users and is a little confusing as to what Microsoft’s strategy is regarding S mode and the restriction of apps. However, Windows 10 S users can still use the Teams app but now they will have to switch to the web version which in my opinion is not that good. Another possible solution is to upgrade to Windows 10 Home or Pro which will allow users to install exe files from external sources.
