Last week, we reported about a leaked video on the upcoming SQL Server 2019 release. Today at Ignite 2108 conference, Microsoft officially announced the new SQL Server 2019 preview with new big data capabilities. SQL Server 2019 can be used for variety of data projects ranging from OLTP, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence (BI) to AI and advanced analytics.

Spark and Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) are now built-in allowing users to ingest, store and analyze vast amounts of data. Microsoft has also included new connectors that enable the query of other databases like Oracle, Teradata and MongoDB directly from SQL Server.
