Microsoft and Meta today announced a partnership to integrate the Bing search engine into Meta AI’s chat experiences on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram.

The announcement came just in time when Meta introduced its new AI assistant at the Meta Connect 2023 event.

Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President and Consumer Chief Marketing Officer at Microsoft, said, “Today’s announcement builds on our partnership with Meta to accelerate innovation in the era of AI.”

“We’re excited to expand on this to continue to help deliver powerful, useful AI experiences into the products people use most.”

This could mean many things, but one thing for sure is that the web search on any AI-related activity on Meta apps will be powered by Bing.

Bing’s integration into Meta AI’s chat experiences is a natural extension of the two companies’ partnership to accelerate innovation in the era of AI.

Microsoft and Meta have been working together on a number of projects, including bringing Microsoft Teams, Office, Windows, and Xbox to VR. The project was announced not too long ago, and it seems like it won’t be the last time they’re working together.
