Mario Kart Tour will be zooming onto Android and iOS devices next month, arriving in style on the 25th of September, 2019.

In Mario Kart Tour, players can race around the world in courses inspired by real-world locations alongside favourites from the iconic Mario Kart series.

The mobile game will follow in the footsteps of its predecessors, sticking to the traditional Mario Kart formula of racing to win while sabotaging your fellow competitors, while also adding a fresh twist to the series.

Mario Kart Tour will also have all the classic items, such as banana peels, Fire Flowers, and Koopa Shells. You’ll also be able to collect drivers, karts, and gliders in order to mix and match and upgrade your kart to be the best it can be.

There’s also new modes, such as Frenzy Mode, which provides an unlimited supply of a certain item and makes you invincible for a short time. This mode allows you to cause explosive chaos amongst other riders, making you ruler of the track.

Bonus challenge courses also exist, such as Vs. Mega Bowser and Goomba Takedown. It’s not always about the race to take first place – sometimes it’s about working out how to win the challenge.

The game is free-to-start, but will contain optional microtransactions. It’s not currently known exactly what the microtransactions may entail, but there’s a chance that players may find features, characters, karts, and even courses locked behind a paywall.

Pre-registration for the app is available now. You can pre-order it on the Apple App Store here and the Google Play Store here. Just be aware that a Nintendo Account is required to play.
