Update: Microsoft just issued another update to the Store on Xbox One which upgrades it to the Microsoft Store. Now it’s working again.

The strange errors just don’t seem to end when it comes to Xbox One. Recently many Xbox One owners, those not in the Xbox Insider Program, noticed that they kept on getting Xbox Store updates. They would download them but this would make the Xbox Store unusable. Many gamers are now reporting that they can’t access the Xbox Store because the console says that their version is out of date. We were able to verify this because we too received Xbox Store updates in the Updates section of My games & apps.

This isn’t the only annoyance though. Recently Microsoft seems to have removed the New games section from the Microsoft Store. So, right now there’s just no way to look at what new games are out on the console unless you download the Xbox app on your phone or use the Xbox app on Windows 10. It’s unclear why this is happening but hopefully the company will figure it out because it’s rather annoying and a rather significant oversight.
