One of the side effects of Nokia’s wide freedom on Windows Phone is that their software can also be subverted to bypass the security of Windows Phone.

A Nokia Library has recently been leaked which allows apps to write to the Windows Phone Registry.  The library did not however allow writing to DWORDs, but now an app has been released which seems to manage this feat.

Unfortunately Lumia DWORD Modifier does not users to write to  the important the  MaxUnsignedApps which would have blown the doors open for side loading.  The progress however seems to be on-going, and I expect eventually even Windows Phone 8’s tight security will be defeated.

The app can be downloaded here.
