Update: Injustice 2 managed to top the charts even in the United States for June. The top games are as follows according to the NPD:

  • Injustice 2
  • Mario Kart 8
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • Prey
  • Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands
  • Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia
  • NBA 2K17
  • MLB 17: The Show
  • Overwatch

Every week, British retailers release sales figures for the best-selling games in the United Kingdom. Well, last week was no exception. Usually, the best-sellers are quite obvious but this time around it’s a little surprising. Injustice 2, despite being a fighting game, was able to beat its competition for the top spot. While the rest of the games didn’t sell nearly as well as Injustice 2, there are still some surprises in there. For example, Prey is still at No. 4 which means that gamers are continuing to purchase the title after a slew of positive reviews.

The Surge also managed to break the top 10 which is surprising. It’s received good reviews but it’s a notoriously difficult game along the lines of Dark Souls. It’s great to see games which require patience and skill…and a lot of practice…do so well. If we go further down the list Gears of War 4 makes an appearance too, which is surprising given how long it’s been since it came out.
