Logitech MX Master is one of the best mice available on the market right now. Now, in an effort to better the MX Master lineup, Logitech has announced a third-generation MX Master mouse — MX Master 3.
If you’re using the second generation of the MX Master, you might want to upgrade to the latest generation as the MX Master 3 comes with several improvements over the last generations.
Speaking of improvements, scrolling experience to be a lot better in the latest MX Master 3 as it has gotten rid of the mechanically scrolling wheel to adopt the electromagnetic system. For those interested, the technical term for the new mechanism is called “Megspeed.” That said, you will still be able to scroll in what you call “ratcheting” and “Silent” mode.
Thumb buttons and second scroll wheel also received noteworthy improvements. For example, the wheel is now wider than older models, the back/forward buttons are now below the wheel, which makes it easier to press.
Another noteworthy improvement is that the new MX Master is all stainless steel, unlike its predecessors, which used rubber coating. The company also embraced the USB-C for charging.
Otherwise, the MX Master 3 has a 4,000 DPI sensor, Logitech’s Unifying USB receiver, Logitech’s Flow technology, 70-day battery life — similar to what the last-gen offered.
The company also announced a new keyboard called MX Keys, which looks quite similar to the Logitech Craft keyboard. The new keyboard from Logitech supports USB-C or Logitech’s Unifying receiver for connectivity and can last up to 10 days with the keyboard backlight turned and up to five months if you turn it off.
Both MX Master 3 and MX Keys share a similar price point that is $99.99. The shipping will start later this month.
