LG has renewed its Windows Phone commitment, and was one of the new OEMs Microsoft announced at BUILD 2014.

Despite rumours that they have ordered 2 million handsets, we have however not however seen any results from the announcement, making it difficult to know if they are in fact producing any devices.

Now a post on LinkedIn by a Microsoft program manager in South Korea has confirmed that LG is indeed working on Windows Phone 8.1 handsets and also the next generation, Windows Threshold.

Windows Threshold is expected to unify Windows Phone and Windows, so Threshold devices could as easily be tablets, desktops or phones.

Either way, it is good to see another large Windows Phone OEM ready to get back into the market, which will hopefully help drive the OS out of its 3-4% doldrum.
