It seems everyone are planning to release folding phones in the near future, and now we can also pencil in a date for such a device by LG, according to reliable leaker Evan Blass.
He tweeted:
I can't speak for Samsung…
…but I do know that LG plans to unveil a foldable phone at its 2019 CES keynote.

Folding phones offer a way to deliver even larger screen sizes while keeping the handset pocketable.
LG has patented a number of implementations of such a device, some of which can be seen below:
On the outside, there may be an external screen and fingerprint reader.
Alternatively, it may have a movable cover which reveals a small display.
Another LG design would have even more screens:
Interestingly LG may have some involvement with the “Surface Phone”, having delivered this diptych to Panos Panay.
Do you think they got the resemblance right?
Huge thanks to LG Display for the awesome caricature. #nailedit pic.twitter.com/vejlOIVuoK— Panos Panay (@panos_panay) June 28, 2018
LG has been connected with Microsoft in the past, with the Economic Times of Korea reporting in January that LG has secured Microsoft, amongst others for its new foldable displays for smartphones and tablets
As noted earlier, evLeaks are pretty reliable, so I guess we only have a few months to wait to see what LG will eventually deliver.
Will our readers get in line for a folding phone from LG? LEt us know below.
