Cliff Bleszinski’s studio Boss Key Productions, developer of LawBreakers and Radical Heights, has shut down. Bleszinski announced the studio’s closure in a statement on Twitter, shedding more light on the situation.

LawBreakers, the studio’s first game, released last summer on PC and PlayStation 4. Like Overwatch, it was a multiplayer team shooter. Unfortunately, it never quite gained the popularity that it needed to sustain Boss Key. At its lowest point, only a handful of people were playing it concurrently on Steam.

Radical Heights is an ’80s-themed battle royale that recently released into Steam Early Access, but as Bleszinski notes, it was too little too late. With Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in the market, it’s hard to compete. This also means that Radical Heights will not be coming to Xbox One, like the developer had originally hoped.

Bleszinski will be taking time away from game development to focus on himself and his family, but he hopes to return one day and make something new.

We wish everyone affected at Boss Key Productions well.
