It seems despite earlier rumours Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2, which brings such cool features as searchable, pinnable and grouped settings, Bluetooth HID support and the ability to use selfie sticks, is indeed rolling out to existing handsets.

We have already heard of the HTC One M8 for Windows getting it, and recently the Blu WIN HD LTE also received the update, and today we can report that the LAVA Iris Win1, an affordable Windows Reference Design device, has also received the update. Other WRD handsets which have received the update include the Archos 40 Cesium, the Prestigio Multiphone 8500 Duo and the WinPhone 4.7 HD TrekStor.

The one exception appears to be Nokia Lumia devices, and while Microsoft has promised that those devices will get Windows 10 Mobile, that is likely more than 6 months out, and current Lumia owners are missing out.

The recent Insider Program issues revealed that Microsoft has already developed GDR2 for a  number of existing handsets, suggesting if Microsoft wanted to, they could roll out the software, though we expect in the push to get Windows 10 Mobile ready they do not need the distraction of rolling out a desirable but in the end minor update.
