With the Windows Phone 7 market share in USA still less than 2%, it is no surprise that the installed base of Microsoft Mobile OS users (Windows Phone + Windows Mobile) continues to drop, with only 4.6 million US mobile subscribers using one of the two operating systems. This number is down 15,000 from last month, presumably due to more Windows Mobile users defecting to non-Microsoft platforms.
The numbers will continue to slide until Windows Phone market share rises to meet the rate of Windows Mobile losses, which will hopefully not happen at 2% subscriber share.
