Kantar has released their smartphone market share numbers for the 3 months ending May 2016.

The numbers hold no surprises, with further market share losses for Windows Phone in Europe. UK, Germany and Italy remain some of the strongest markets for the operating system, but all with 6% of less market share.  The OS is now almost non-existent in Spain, with just 0.2%, having a bigger presence in China.

In USA its market share is also only 1.6%, but surprisingly this is a slight increase from 1.3% in the April numbers.

In the EU5 countries Windows Phone now has 4.6% market share, down from 9.6% last year and 4.8% last month. It is not clear at present where the numbers will bottom out yet, but we suspect it will get worse before it gets better.
