Kantar: Windows Phone has overtaken RIM Market Share in USA, “Key 8 Countries”

Kantar has released their market share numbers for the 12 weeks leading up to the 7th August, and it demonstrates that the good July Windows Phone had has pushed it ahead of RIM, making it officially the 3rd biggest OS in USA and also in the Key 8 countries, which include USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia and Brazil.

In USA RIM now only has 1.5% market share, while Windows Phones capturing 3.3% of the market.

In the Key 8 countries in total Windows Phone held 4.8% market share, up from 3.5% a year ago, and ahead of Symbian at 3.2% and RIM at 3.8%.
