The Intel RealSense F200 camera now works on AMD systems, according to a new report. Yes, Intel does state that the camera is only supposed to work with Intel processors (4th generation i3, i5, i7 or later Intel® Core™ processor) – however, the company recently released a new update for its firmware which apparently brings support for AMD systems.

As you may expect, not all of the features of the F200 camera works on AMD systems. If you try to setup Windows Hello, you’ll see that it uses the Infared camera rather than using the RGB camera:

Interestingly enough, the F200 camera doesn’t work when your PC wakes up from sleep — which means, Windows Hello won’t work and you’ll need to use some other method to login. That being said, the F200 camera reportedly works perfectly with Windows Hello on AMD systems, which should be a good news for AMD users.

If you own a PC with an AMD processor, are you glad that Intel is adding support for AMD systems? Discuss in the comment section below.
