Instagram today announced face filters for its app. Face Filters is the latest addition to the company’s set of features that it has cloned from Snapchat so far. The company is launching 8 face filters initially, and more filters will be coming later. Instagram users can use any of these 8 filters on normal videos, Instagram Stories, and even Boomerang. There isn’t a huge difference from the face filters on Instagram and the ones on Snapchat — but Instagram insists that the company’s implementation highly focuses on the little details. “You’ll see as you use them, there’s a level of craft and detail with each one of the eight face filters that I think is unique,” said Instagram’s Head of Product in an interview at TechCrunch Disrupt.

In addition to Face Filters, Instagram is also adding a new rewind feature to Boomerang, and hashtags to stories. The company is also currently testing location filters for Instagram Stories, which will allow users to add a location filter to their story and it will show up on the dedicated page for that specific location where other users will be able to view their story.

Instagram is currently rolling out face filters across the world on Android and iOS, but it isn’t clear when the features will make it to the Windows 10 app as of yet.
