Huawei's new MateBook E takes on Microsoft's Surface Pro

At a press event in Berlin, Huawei announced three new devices in its MateBook series. The new MateBook X is the world’s smallest 13-inch laptop that will compete with devices like Microsoft Surface Laptop and Apple MacBook. Another new device Huawei announced today is called MateBook E. MateBook E is a 2-in-1 device that will compete with Microsoft’s Surface Pro. Huawei’s has made significant improvements from its 1st gen product.

MateBook E comes with a screen-to-body ratio of 84 percent, 12-inch IPS 2K touch display, 85% NTSC color gamut and 400 nits brightness. The new Folio Keyboard cover now comes with a maximum angle of adjustment that can reach up to 160 degrees. It also comes with Dolby Audi Premium for enhanced audio experience. And it comes with a choice of 7th Generation Intel Core i5 or m3 processors and 9 hours of battery life. Find the pricing details below.

The new MateBook E will begin shipping over the summer of 2017. Huawei also announced MateBook D, a 15.6-inch notebook with an 83 percent screen-to-body ratio, a 178-degree viewing angle, a choice of 7th Generation Intel Core™ i7 or i5 processors, optional NVIDIA GeForce 940MX Graphics, and Dolby Atmos Sound System. Huawei MateBook D will start at 999 € and it will also be shipping this Summer.
