Chinese tech giant Huawei is confirmed to release the much-awaited Mate 40 series this month. The upcoming Mate 40 series is expected to include Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro+. While the company will talk about these devices in detail on the launch date, the GeekBench listing of the Mate 40 Pro has just given us an insight into the specs of the smartphone.

The GeekBench listing suggests that the Mate 40 Pro carries model number NOH-NX9 and is powered by the all-new Kirin 9000 chipset, the name of the chipset has not been mentioned. For the GPU performance, the smartphone will rely on Mali-G78. The benchmarking site also reveals that the handset will have 8GB of RAM, though it’s not clear whether or not there will be more variants for those who want to more RAM.

The smarpthone will be powered by Android 10 and that sounds a bit odd given the fact that all the smartphones launching this month are offering Android 11 out of the box. However, it’s worth noting that since it’s a Huawei phone, you won’t get access to Google Play Store. Instead, you’ll have to download all your apps from the company’s own AppGallery app store.

Talking about the GeekBench scores, the Mate 40 Pro managed to get a single-core score of 1020 and a multi-core score of 3710 on GeekBench 5.

According to previously leaked renders, the Mate 40 Pro smarpthone will feature a curved display and will have dual front-facing cameras and housing it will be a hole-punch camera cut out. At the back of the smartphone, you’ll see a circular camera module, inside which we can see four cameras, including a 108MP sensor. On the right side of the circular camera module, we can see an LED flash and what is probably a depth sensor. The renders also suggest that the Mate 40 Pro could be available in six different color options.
