At their press event today Huawei announced Smart Eyewear, eyewear which is designed to bring your digital assistant to your glasses.

The glasses lacks cameras and screens, and are more a socially acceptable way to bring a speaker and microphone to your head constantly.

The company is partnering with Gentle Monster, with Hankook Kim, CEO of Gentle Monster noting that their glasses look much better than earlier versions such as Google Glass. “How many of us want to wear these around our friends and lovers”, he asked.

The glasses feature dual microphones, dual speakers and connect to your phone via Bluetooth.  It is powered by a generous 2,200 mAh battery and charges wirelessly in its pouch.

Huawei CEO Richard Yu called the glasses a “new fusion of fashion and technology”.

The glasses will launch in July. Pricing has not been announced yet.
