The full specs of the somewhat anticipated Huawei Ascend W2 has been confirmed, courtesy of a specs sheet at Huawei’s stand at GSMA 2013 Mobile Asia Expo where the China Mobile version of the handset was being shown off.

The specs are:

  • 4.3 inches WVGA resolution screen
  • 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core SnapDragon S4 processor MSM8x30 (Adeno 305 GPU)
  • 512M RAM
  • 8GB ROM
  • 9.9mm thick.

This is of course pretty far from the 7 mm thick 720P monster device we have been expecting and which has previously been leaked, and suggests to me, given recent comments by Huawei’s CEO, that the specifications of the handset has been dropped to more closely match the success in the market of Huawei’s Windows Phone 8 handsets.

The now very mid-range or even low-end handset will be available in red, yellow and black.  See more more pictures of the device after the break.
