According to Digitimes (via the Chinese-language Economic Daily New) HTC is set to launch the HTC Maple at the CTIA Wireless 2009 trade fair held between April 1-3.

HTC is in talks with the 4 major carriers to launch the smartphone much more widely than the Dash, which was confined to T-Mobile. We have in fact seen the CDMA version of the device, the HTC Cedar, already being rumoured for launch on Verizon, the biggest US carrier and the Maple is almost certainly destined for T-Mobile.

Apparently the market for messenger devices such as this is an attractive 3 million/year in US, and with the Maple likely being quite low cost HTC appears well set to address recession-laden businesses ready to cut back on their IT expenses.
