HTC moving rapidly into the WP7 market.

If we need any more confirmation of the October launch of Windows Phone 7, a casual mention by an HTC regional executive has done just that.

HTC’s Middle East and North Africa regional director, Mohammad Kais Zribi, has told Gulf News that the company is moving aggressively to build market share, and that Windows Phone 7 was part of their strategy.

“We will be launching Windows Phone 7 handsets next month and we will be concentrating on Android and Windows segments,” Zribi said. “So far we have launched six models and around five more models by end of the year.”

The company is striving to increase its market share from 1.8% to 5% world wide and 10% in Middle East and Africa.

At the moment we expect 3 HTC handsets at launch in Europe, the HTC Mozart, HTC Schubert and HTC Spark.
