There is a reason why all the handset OEMS are running helter skelter into the smartphone segment. According to Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC), reported by Economic Daily News, HTC is making more money than LG, Motorola and Sony Ericson.
Due to only making high end smartphones the Windows phone and Android OEM was more profitable than OEMs shipping tens of millions more phones than them.
The handset maker was ranked 5th, after Apple, Nokia, Samsung and RIM.
HTC is projected to make 8% of the total profit of the market next year, with the smartphone market set to expand to 420 million handsets in 2011.
