HTC 8X now getting the GDR2 update on AT&T

While Nokia Lumia 920 users are still anxiously awaiting the GDR2 update on AT&T, HTC’s Windows Phone flagship on the network are already in receipt of the updated software.

According to AT&T’s support forums:

On 8/15/2013, AT&T and HTC begin releasing the Windows Phone 8 GDR2 software update for the HTC Windows Phone 8X (PM23300). This software package updates the firmware revision number to 3030.0.34101.502, and includes multiple improvements.

The 207 MB update is available over WIFI only and adds:

  • LTE Bands 2 & 5 are now supported for expanded wireless frequency capabilities.
  • FM radio support has been added (with a wired headset).
  • Google Contacts (CardDav) and Calendar (CalDav) sync support has been added.
  • Additional enhancements have been made to Bluetooth, music, and battery performance.
