HP’s VR backpack PC, Omen X Compact Desktop is now shipping in the US. Customers can use this desktop PC at their desk, on the couch, or fully immerse with the optional VR backpack. The HP Omen X Compact Desktop includes Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1080 GPU and Intel’s 7th-gen Core i7-7820HK processor which are powerful enough to handle all the VR headsets that are currently available in the market. Users will also get 1TB PCIe SSD of storage and 16GB of DDR4 RAM.

The VR Backpack allows users to easily swap batteries mid-game without removing the backpack or interrupting their flow thanks to two waist-mounted battery holsters and a third battery inside the PC. A charging dock and two pairs of batteries with up to one hour of battery life each enable users to use one pair while fast charging the other for extended VR gaming sessions.

The Omen X Compact Desktop can be ordered here from HP for $2,500. The OMEN X Desktop VR Backpack can be ordered for $499 here from HP.
