Last month, HP announced their 2nd gen Spectre x360 convertible laptop with the latest Intel 8th gen processors, longer battery life and an optional integrated privacy screen option. This device is now available for order in the US.

The updated HP Spectre x360 comes with a refined design with more angular lines and it is made using CNC machined aluminum body. HP will offer it in the same Natural Silver and Dark Ash Silver with Copper accents which were available in the previous generation. HP has also reduced the bezels around the display and customers can opt for 4K touchscreen display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass NBT for great viewing experiences.

To meet the performance needs of the consumers, HP has included the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors. With a Full HD display, this device will offer 16.5 hours of battery life. HP claims that this laptop offers the world’s longest battery life in a quad-core convertible. Customers will have an option to choose the memory up to 16 GB LPDDR3 and 1TB PCIe SSD for storage. Since this is a convertible device, it will support Windows Ink for natural drawing and writing experience. The updated HP Pen is tilt sensitive and customers can recharge it using the included USB-C port. HP claims that 15 seconds of charging gives the user up to 198 minutes of use.

For improved security, HP has included both fingerprint reader and HP Wide Vision FHD IR camera for Windows Hello authentication. HP is also offering customers to choose HP Sure View integrated privacy screen option on Full HD versions to eliminate visual hacking with one keystroke.

If you are looking for a premium laptop but can’t afford the Surface series, you should definitely consider this laptop. It offers great value for its price. For example, the HP Spectre x360 with 8th Gen quad-core Intel Core i7-8550U, 16GB RAM, 13.3″ 4K IPS micro-edge WLED-backlit touch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass NBT and 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD costs just $1549. And it comes with a free active pen and sleeve as well.
